John Patton Ford is the writer and director of HOW TO MAKE A KILLING starring Glen Powell, Margaret Qualley, and Ed Harris. HOW TO MAKE A KILLING was released in the United States by A24 in February 2026.

John Patton Ford’s debut feature, EMILY THE CRIMINAL, starring Aubrey Plaza and Theo Rossi, premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically by Roadside Attractions and Vertical Entertainment. The film earned John Patton Ford an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay. John Patton Ford began his career as a screenwriter, having written scripts for GLOW: THE STORY OF RICK JAMES (Sony), STOPWATCH GANG (Universal), and DELILAH DIRK (Disney).
